Sue is the Managing Director of Sue McDonnell Consulting based in Sydney. She is also part of the Adjunct Faculty at the Australian Graduate School of Business, Executive Education, where she coaches Executives. Her first love is working with individuals. She is an exceptionally skilled coach particularly in holding a mirror up to enable people to gain a deeper understanding of what is driving their behaviour, and providing practical tools to help shift behaviours which are no longer working for them. She has been described as ‘tough and challenging but with empathy’. She is committed to holding people accountable and for increasing their self-awareness so that they can enjoy optimal working relationships.
Sue also works with Executive Teams where she has been described as ‘being able to go deep quickly, but hold people in a safe space’ – she does this by calling on her expertise as a Psychotherapist with group dynamics to help others understand how their intrapersonal and interpersonal worlds are playing out in the team. She is outcome focused and pragmatic in her approach.
Sue has worked internally in a range of Senior Organisational Development and Human Resources roles both in Ireland and Australia across a number of industries, including telecommunications, insurance and professional services. Sue has been working as an external consultant for the past nine years, and in that time she has worked with several senior management teams, conducted over 900 feedback sessions and over 10,000 coaching hours.
Sue’s client list covers industries such as Banking & Finance, Government, Telecommunications, FMCG, Insurance, Professional Services and Media & Publishing.
